On July 18, 1997, American Dave Winer edited the software that gave life to "online diary." This date was chosen as the symbolic birth of the blog, but actually refers to the development of this program that marked a revolution on the Internet.

The first blog was published on December 23, 1997 thanks to Jorn Barger, a passionate American trader after hunting. He decided to open a personal page to distribute the results of his online research, as far as his hobby is concerned.

In the United States fast blog gets great success: from the exclusive privilege of universities and research centers, it becomes a tool accessible to all users.

Over the years, its use has periodically picked up and down, especially with the advent of social networks: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram have become the biggest bloggers, but none of them have succeeded in replacing them.

The blog actually brings with it a difficult to replicate element through social networking profiles: it's a cross-platform, and this is a feature that makes it even more preferred as a place where we can publish textual content.
